No win at Alpenrose today. Very disappointing. I had a rough week. Travel, lack of sleep and stress caught up with me. Lessons learned: 1) Pre-ride the course. I got a call-up and started at the very front of the pack. Not knowing the first few turns put me 30 riders back before the 1st climb. Rookie mistake. 2) Warm up!. At 39 years old, I can’t go cold turkey anymore. It wasn’t until lap 4 that I got into the groove. Unfortunately, at that point, I was a minute and 20 seconds back and could only work my way back up to 13th position. I’ll prepare better for the race at Rainier next week.
